Unique Designs at Monopol 12 End Tables by Konstantin Grcic
Starting
now, in the framework of the successful Monopol Editions, Monopol is also offering
contemporary design. The beginning is made in the current issue, 1/2007, just
in time for Christmas: 12 unique items of the types "Diana A" and "Diana
B" by Konstantin Grcic, which the star designer created exclusively for Monopol.
Konstantin
Grcic is an international leader in the field of design and industrial design.
His products are found in renowned international collections, like the Museum
of Modern Art in New York and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. Munich's Haus
der Kunst devoted a major retrospective to Grcic last summer.
The
end tables of types "Diana A" and "Diana B" (Classicon), each
made of 4 mm sheet steel and painted in two colors of high-gloss lacquer, cost
1,500.00 Euros per table - for annual subscribers, just 1,400.00 Euros.

| Biography
of Konstantin Grcic
Konstantin Grcic was born in Munich in 1965. He
studied Design at the Royal College of Art in London. In 1991, he founded KGID
(Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design) in Munich to develop his products for major
manufacturers like Authentics, Classicon, Flos, Magis, Moroso, and Muji. Grcic's
formal solutions often seem drastic on first sight; at a second glance, their
quiet charm and humor unfolds. In the past he has often employed materials like
highly stressable plastics and metal. While their forms often seem almost ascetic,
his objects' colors are often all the less modestly selected, whether glaring
orange, fire red, purple-violet, or yellow-green.
