Nils Holger Moormann



Since 1982 self-taught Nils Holger Moormann has been producing and marketing designs of mostly young, unknown designers, as one of the protagonists of 'New German Design'. Adhering to the guiding idea of simplicity, innovation and intelligence the products are characterized by 'concepts' as well as precise solutions for details and a reduced formal language. Since 1992 the Moormann company has been based in Upper Bavarian Ashau, in Chiemgau. From this unconventional one-man company has developed a company which employs a team of 20 staff and leaves Nils Holger Moormann time for international jury activities and lectures. The furniture collection whose products have been awarded many international design prizes is constantly expanding to include new furniture and product lines. At the end of 2006 Moormann delivered his newest and at the time most programmatic work, "Walden": A reference to Thoreau whose most inner truth reverberates in Moormann's history.
