Close to a German interstate and in the middle of a rural idyll. Driving by you would expect to see a service station, a gas station, or the commercial estates one associates with smaller communities. And not truly striking architectural projects.
Darmstadt-based Jarosch Architekten was commissioned to design a logistics center for an internationally active event organization - and came up with a gleaming architectural solution.
At it is truly gleaming, as the façade of the basic rectangular structure radiates in the sunlight, and the surrounding countryside is marvelously reflected on its black background. In this way, the building embeds itself in the rural context.
The logistics center boasts a façade using the Alucobond system produced by Alcan Singen. The 6mm-thick aluminum composite panels have been enameled in deep black using coil coating and have an 80% gloss.
