The Munich Eurostar Book Hotel commissioned both Spanish architectural firm Capella Garcia Arquitectura and Munich-based Schmid Architekten with the design of their new building. Taking the hotel name as its creative leitmotif, the entire building pays homage to the book.

Each of the hotel’s stories reflects a different literary genre, while the rooms and hallways reference famous works. The hotel’s façade makes for a particularly original and distinctive feature: Sweeping, half-open book covers made of “fibreC” glass fiber reinforced concrete by Rieder shape the building’s façade as well as providing shade from the sun.

The manufacturer developed 1,000 square-meters of “fibreC” façade panels for the hotel, each 13 millimeters in thickness. Thanks to a special production method Rieder is able to produce rounded panels from glass fiber concrete and thus open up a world of possibilities for unique, customized building shells.
