The experts of the design world are looking with anticipation towards Milan for the upcoming Salone del Mobile, and this year the Milan Design Week for architects and interior designers is likely to be even more interesting. Indeed, for the first time the Salone is coinciding with the platform “Space & Interiors” from April 12 to 16, 2016 in the Porta Nuova mall in the Brera design district. The event will be organized by Made Expo, the biennial fair for the construction industry, which has brought on board as curators Milan architecture studio Migliore + Servetto Architects. With a focus on architecture, façade design, interior design and innovative materials and technologies, leading manufacturers such as 3A Composites, Knauf, Velux and Virag will showcase their new products.

“Space & Interiors” is an ideal forum for experts to swap ideas with fellow specialists, who, above all, elaborate concepts for sustainable architecture. For example, in the evenings “Archicocktails” will feature talks and discussions with Ferruccio Laviani, Tiziano Vudafieri, Cino Zucchi and the curators Ico Migliore and Mara Servetto themselves.
In addition, Ico Migliore and Mara Servetto, known for fair and exhibition design in international museums from Tokyo to Los Angeles, will curate a further highlight of the event: In “New Components Code” renowned exhibitors will showcase selected products in a special section under the motto “Identity of habitation”. In addition, visitors to the Lounge will have the opportunity to chat with experts about floor coverings, color decors, doors, stairs, windows and façade claddings in a relaxed setting. Admission is free. And a free shuttle service will ensure architects, planners and designers attending the Salone can travel easily between the various venues. (rw)
