After completing her vocational training as a ceramist, Birgit Hoffmann studied industrial design in Kiel and worked for designers such as Studio & Partners in Milan and Peter Maly Design in Hamburg. In 2006, she founded her own design studio in Hamburg.
From 2009 to 2013 she has been creating designs together with Christoph Kahleyss and Peter Maly . In 2011, she became the art director at the company freifrau.
Today she heads together with Christoph Kahleyss a design studio with the focus on fur
niture design and interior architecture in Hamburg. Her clients include renowned furniture manufacturers such as Rolf Benz and Leolux, or the Swiss upholstered furniture maker de Sede.
