01 product description
Induction cooking is fast, precise and energy efficient. With the new full surface induction cooktop CX 480 Gaggenau, the leading German brand for domestic appliances, introduces a new cooktop concept to the market. For the first time, the entire surface of the cooktop is one large cooking area. The intuitive controls are operated by an extra-large TFT touch display.
Innovative technology for added flexibility.
The full surface induction cooktop CX 480 allows cookware of any size and shape to be placed anywhere on its surface. Up to four pots and pans can be used simultaneously. The cooktop automatically recognises the presence of a pan and heat is only generated where the the cookware is detected. Should the pan be moved, the cooktop registers its new position and carries on heating at the same temperature. “Under the glass ceramic surface of the new full surface induction cooktop CX 480 there is a closely-spaced, staggered configuration of 48 micro-inductors. Unlike conventional large induction coils, this structure transforms the entire cooktop into one large cooking area”, explains Stefan Köhl, Director of Product Management at Gaggenau. Intuitive controls. The cooktop is operated by an extra-large TFT touch display that indicates the shape, size and position of the cookware. Cooking zones and heat settings are selected at the touch of a fingertip. An information key provides the user with additional operating instructions. With the full surface induction cooktop, Gaggenau once again provides enthusiastic home cooks with added scope to pursue their culinary aspirations and underlines the company’s claim to leadership in technology and design “made in Germany”.

imm Cologne Part 3
The imm cologne furniture fair is currently making a comeback, not just thanks to efforts being made to once again provide dedicated labels and manufacturers with a sophisticated platform, but also because of its grand new kitchen show, "Living Kitchen". While experienced trade fair visitors may have wondered what the name referred to ("the kitchen is alive" or perhaps "living the kitchen"?) one thing is clear: Kitchens are the new hot topic that electrifies professional visitors and the general public alike.
