01 Material Profile
material description
Tougher than granite; lighter than aluminium; all-round usage. VidroStone® is the product of the future. The fusion of porcelain ceramic and glass forms a perfect material with the best characteristics of both materials. VidroStone® offers new opportunities for creative and planning demands. The ceramic surface has been intensively tested to get the approval of International Certificates. VidroStone® passed all tests with excellence. Because of the small height of 12 mm and the flexibility during processing and usage, the material sets a new quality and design standard. It can be combined with other materials like wood, glass, metal and synthetic materials.
02 Technical Data
technical description
VidroStone® is a composite material of a non-switched ceramic layer and a constructive glass layer. This 12 mm thick fusion forms a new material which contains the excellent characteristics of both components. It can be produced up to a maximum dimension of 980 mm x 2980 mm (117,323” x 38,583”).
- Scratch resistance: absolute scratch resistant ceramic surface, MOHS hardness: VidroStone®=8, industrial diamond=10, granite=4.5
- Breaking resistance: strongly breaking resistance ( UNI EN ISO 10545-4)
Abrasion resistance: high resistance against abrasion and has an absolute scratch-proof hardness - even after intensive use and frequent cleaning, its characteristics remain unchanged (UNI ENI ISO 10545 -6)
- Heat resistance: even when heated, both the shape and surface of porcelain ceramics remain stable (UNI EN ISO 10545-9)
- Fire resistance: surface consists out of 100% non-organic material and is categorized as a non-flammable material - in case of fire neither smoke nor poisonous gases are generated
- Industrial hygiene: no substances can go in or through the ceramic surface - fungi, bacteria and mildew agents can not penetrate the surface
- Easy to Clean: porcelain ceramics can be cleaned easily with standard household cleaners
- Chemical resistance: resists organic and non-organic chemical solvents and disinfectants and cleaning solvents do not harm the surface
- Skid resistance: high sliding stabillity - industrially and public usage permitted (DIN 51 130)
- Frost resistance: frost - resistant and applicable in all atmospheric conditions and climates (UNI EN ISO 10545-12)
- Ultraviolet resistance: contains no organic pigments and is absolutely uv - resistant
- Eco- friendly: no pollution because of the surface - the surface is a 100% pure natural product that is made of the same raw materials as normal porcelain dinnerware I surface is 100% recycable
