01 Material Profile

The product Alu CRUSH STIPPLE is a genuine metal High Pressure Laminate (HPL) with natural colour and a manually designed grinding surface. Due to the manual labour every sheet is unique and has its own special appeal. The striking grinding pattern is a highlight to every decoration.

During pressing operation, the aluminium foil is pressed on a core of phenolic resin impregnated kraft paper. Please pay special attention to the handmade design of the metal foil.

The HPL is meant for vertical use in interior decoration and can easily be cleaned with non-abrasive detergents (no acetone, not alkaline).

Generally, reference # 800/220 is produced and delivered in flame-retardant quality according to IMO (see technical information in short).

General Information
Alu CRUSH STIPPLE is available in thickness 1.0 mm in the sizes 2440 x 1220 mm and 3050 x 1220 mm.

For protection during transport and processing, the HPL are covered by a protective foil. Temperature during processing must not exceed 80°C.

Flame-retardant quality
The HPL are flame-retardant as to the FTP-code annex 1 part 5 no. 2.1 and part 6 no. 2.1 and comply with the FTP-code part 2 for smoke density and toxicity criteria. These products bear the “steering-wheel logo” as well as the USCG Approval no. 164.112/EC0736/118.083.

Processing
Like all standard HPL, Alu CRUSH STIPPLE can be sawn, drilled and milled with carbide-tipped cutting tools.

Pressing of the laminates should be effected at a maximum temperature of 60°C and a maximum pressure of 0.3 N/mm². Gluing is done with conventional glues and adhesives, e.g. white glue, two-component epoxy adhesive or neoprene contact adhesive. Exception: Urea adhesives are not suitable.

Upon request Alu CRUSH STIPPLE is also available in postforming quality.
