Faraway collection is the first one to be presented by the brands Zucchetti and Kos as a Group. Awards: Elle Decoration International Design Award 2010; Red Dot Award_Communication design 2009 for the video-story of the collection; Adi Design Index 2010; Australian Design Award; Honourable Mention at 2011 Compasso d'Oro. Ludovica+Roberto Palomba_designers: "Faraway is an experiential kit made of items of relaxing and tactile form which identify a new 'tailor-made' wellness. Replacing the usual bathtime ritual in favour of an experience." Faraway/Vis-à-Vis was designed by studying organic asymmetric hybrid geometries that unite rigour and sensuality exploring new ergonomics whilst saving energy and water: the geometry of this bathtub expands and contracts to meet comfort requirements while ensuring significant water saving. The use of Cristalplant enhances the range's material and sensual qualities creating a bathroom devoted to sensual experiences that can be shared with others.

The special things – for everyday life
Today, faucets created by highly paid designers are ugly, or so claims Hans Magnus Enzensberger at least. The exhibitors at the ISH were no doubt more upbeat about their products, and put much effort into presenting their new fittings, basins and everything else that belongs in a bathroom.
Crisis? What crisis?
At this year's ISH, the "World's Leading Trade Fair for the Bathroom Experience, Building, Energy, Bathroom, Air-Conditioning Technology and Renewable Energies" in Frankfurt the economic crisis did not take centre stage. Visitor and exhibitor numbers almost matched those of the previous year and an upbeat outlook was palpable - almost defying the crisis, as it were.

There are any number of trends, but only one can lead the way: The bathroom is expanding and merging with the bedroom to form one large area of relaxation and recovery. This, however, is no easy design task to be accomplished.
