The invisible steps into the light

They stand in the shadow of large architectural projects but are everyday public utilities all the same, ones we could hardly do without and are often equally impressive, extremely well-though-out design elements. The traveling exhibition "Kleine Bauten der Infrastruktur – Wie das Unsichtbare sichtbar wird" (small infrastructural edifices – the invisible steps into the light) is dedicated to small buildings such as kiosks, bus stops and gas stations. It will be stopping at the Neues Museum in Nuremberg from November 23, 2011 through January 29, 2012.

Kibbuz and Bauhaus

What do Bauhaus ideals and those of the Kibbutzim have in common? On the basis of documents, plans, photographs, interior designs and interviews, the exhibition "Kibbuz and Bauhaus" displays the influence of Bauhaus on design by modern Kibbutzim in Israel and Palestinian, thus throwing light on the utopian worlds associated with it as well as changes that have taken place over the years and presenting the lives of the participating architects in this intermediary world between Europe and the East. The exhibition will be taking place from November 25, 2011 through April 9, 2012 at the Bauhaus Foundation in Dessau.

The product and its soul

Günter Horntrich's oeuvre spans design for branding through to product development. Based upon his many years of experience as an entrepreneur and Professor of Ecology and Design he determined that a product's function has become self-evident. According to Horntrich, today's designers are required to give products a soul too. The exhibition "Die Seele der Dinge" (Things and their souls) will be open to the public at the Pforzheim Galerie from December 2, 2011 through April 1, 2012 and tells the history behind the products.
