Product description
Like a big, enveloping, and highly treasured cape. Slightly padded. Comfortable and tactile. This is Mantò. The new sofa by Poltrona Frau speaks the language of haute couture. The natural elegance of the piece stems from the masterful tailoring that goes into the handling of all materials. The piece is available in leather or fabric, according to taste, and all surfaces are designed and executed exclusively by hand. The exterior of the sofa is fashioned like a cape, completely removable, while a series of impeccably executed pleats create a refined, wavy pattern on the surface at the rear of the cape-cover.
In this detailing, one can sense the artisan’s touch and the tailored execution that makes every piece unique. By interpreting the sofa in a modern, versatile and customisable way, Mantò aims to introduce a new generation to Poltrona Frau’s legacy of incomparable quality. Craftsmanship, design and unsurpassed materials find a new and balanced synthesis in Mantò. The rounded lines of the back and armrests recall elements found throughout the history of the brand, but are cleaner and sharper here. With Mantò, Poltrona Frau harks back to its traditional past, yet reinterprets it, providing a contemporary spin.
The sofa frame is crafted from beech and poplar plywood and the padding in polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. Elastic belts are used as the seat’s springs. Covered in Pelle Frau® leather from the Color System, Heritage or Soul. Cushions and cape, completely removable, are also available with a fabric cover. Feet in solid ash in smoked or wengé dyed shades. The Mantò project comprises a two-seater sofa, a two-seater large sofa, a three-seater and a dormeuse.
