Product description
All-glass balustrades are the new addition to the large Sky-Frame window and sliding door systems. Because what good is the best-looking glass front if the balcony in front of it is surrounded by a balustrade that spoils part of the view? The Sky-Frame developers have therefore constructed an all-glass balustrade that maintains the unimpeded view, allows daylight to flood into the rooms, and provides protection from the wind and the weather.
Of course, the Sky-Frame glass balustrade meets the safety requirements and predominantly uses 25 mm thick laminated float glass. Toughened safety glass is also available for situations and countries where additional safety requirements apply. A profile rail made from aluminium retains the glass elements and holds them secure, whereby the profile is flexible enough to prevent the pane of glass from breaking under pressure. The glass is retained without needing to drill holes - which reduces the cost of planning and manufacture, and keeps down the installation cost.
Functionality, safety and design convince aesthetes and engineers alike.

Architects, a thing for sliding windows
Part 1
What exactly are architects interested in when visiting the BAU trade fair in Munich? We decided to find out. Robert Volhard joined Amandus Sattler, founding partner of “Allmann, Sattler, Wappner Architekten”, as he made his way around the fair, and there were certainly a few surprises in store.

As the “world’s leading trade fair for architecture, materials, systems” BAU in Munich offers a wealth of information for architects, planners and anyone with an interest in today’s building solutions, or tomorrow’s. That said, this time round highly customizable standard solutions took center stage while true innovation remained scarce.

This year’s Designers’ Saturday held in the Swiss town of Langenthal certainly confirmed the trade fair’s standing as one of the finest and most creative design events in the world.
