01 product description
Ellekilde School near Sakskøbing, on the Danish island of Lolland, results from the merger of three neighbouring schools. Designed for about 400 pupils and 75 employees, this solid, simple and colourful school was conceived by ATRA architects as a single entity with double height central space.
The Troldtekt panels on the ceilings fulfil an important function by subduing the sounds in a large and diffuse space otherwise clad in hard materials. At the same time, the homogenous ceiling and interplay between the bevelled panels create a good sense of continuity between the individual classrooms and the central space.
Troldtekt panels are made from 100% natural materials; wood from Danish forests and cement produced by Aalborg Portland, Denmark. The structure of Troldtekt panels provides a basis for excellent sound absorption, and using Troldtekt ceilings will, therefore, reduce noise and provide optimal room acoustics. Troldtekt is available in a high number of combinations that vary according to surface structure, edge, installation system, colour, dimension and thickness.
