Product description

The Utzon Center in Aalborg is a unique monument to a unique master of architecture. Its main purpose is to serve as an international meeting place for about 70 students and researchers contributing to increased awareness of Scandinavian architecture, design and artistic traditions.

Troldtekt ceilings have been installed extensively throughout the 2,800 sqm complex - 900sqm of straight-edged light acoustic panels specially cut to a 40cm width. Some panels have solid wood strips between them to emphasise the character and modular design of the building and thereby its rhythm and nature.

Project architect Lise Juel Grønbjerg concludes, “I personally like the fact that the raw appearance of the building is effectively set off by the panels’ ultra-fine, light and natural appearance and how visitors comment on the fine acoustics

Troldtekt panels are made from 100% natural materials; wood from Danish forests and cement produced by Aalborg Portland, Denmark. The structure of Troldtekt panels provides a basis for excellent sound absorption, and using Troldtekt ceilings will, therefore, reduce noise and provide optimal room acoustics. Troldtekt is available in a high number of combinations that vary according to surface structure, edge, installation system, colour, dimension and thickness.
