This finely designed loop with an aligned, smoothly constructed surface is being presented currently in a discreet, two-toned flecked shading. Elegant grey and anthracite dominate among the 17 colours, though these also include matted shades of blue and green, as well as rust or sandy hues. Strong and solidly designed, ARENA has been deployed successfully in the contract flooring business for 8 years now. But in the third part of our tour of the “BAU” trade fair in Munich, Amandus Sattler discovers that there are in fact some well-executed specimens out there, such as those developed in collaboration with Foster+Partners. Data protection patterns, and columns of numbers and letters without their content spelling a meaning, form the basis of "Rapport", an intervention by architect Jürgen Mayer H. at Berlinische Galerie. Outsized the symbols spread across the floor and walls to form an "experimental spatial structure".
