Rethinking everyday objects and giving contemporary forms of expression to new technologies – this is the design approach adopted by Stefan Diez. After studying at Stuttgart’s Visual Arts Academy, he began to work for Richard Sapper, then with Konstantin Grcic. He opened his own design studio in Munich in 2003. In 2007 he was appointed to a project professorship in product design to the College of Advanced Design in Karlsruhe. With designs for e15, Established & Sons, Moroso, Wilkhahn and Thonet among others, Stefan Diez has made a name for himself internationally and won numerous design awards. His work has been exhibited by major museums, and he has long since acquired a reputation as one of the most innovative, internationally successful German designers.
