El "Dining Desk" es fruto de la colaboración entre el fabricante de cocinas Poggenpohl y Draenert, el especialista en mesas de comedor extraíbles. Poggenpohl ya había presentado en la Eurocucina 2006 su esbozo del "Dining Desk". "Hoy en día la cocina no es sólo un lugar en donde preparar los platos y comer, sino que ha asumido un papel principal como lugar de encuentro para toda la familia", afirma Elmar Duffner, gerente de Poggenpohl. "La reacción positiva de los visitantes de la feria y los medios especializados nos han motivado para fabricar en serie este producto." Para esta mesa tan versátil hay disponibles modelos enchapados o en piedra natural. Las diversas chapas de madera natural se adaptan a todo tipo de frentes de cocina. Al igual que con las variantes minerales del Dining Desk, Poggenpohl ha ampliado la gama de encimeras. Entre ellas figura por ejemplo la elegante piedra "Verde Bamboo", la "Impala" en mezcla gris, la rojinegra "Tropical Black", la "Azul Aran" en blanco azulado y la "Juparana Bordeaux" en mezcla rojiblanca.
