01 Material Profile
material description
QUANTZ combines outstanding material properties, similar to steel like compressive strength and ceramic like durability with the potentials of a cement bonded high-tech material and economic and ecological advantages.
The mechanical high loadable material QUANTZ is perfect for constructive and architectural or design applications. Due to the exceptional material properties, applications from tableware, floor- or wall tiles, façade elements up to structural pre-cast elements or high-rise constructions are realizable. Enabled is this by a new developed packing density optimization algorithm for the usage of nano sized raw-materials. Outcome is an extreme dense , water- and gas resistant as well as high loadable matrix.
G.tecz develops QUANTZ worldwide and individual for each application and its technical requirements with local raw-materials. Environmental sustainability, cost effective and conscientious sustainability are besides the outstanding material properties the material’s strength.
QUANTZ could be casted in nearly every geometry or shape ( strand
casting, injection molding, gray cast iron technologies). Planar as well as double curved thin-walled panels could be produced. The size ob objects is independent from the material.

Each model is an interpretation
There’s a very close relationship between making architectural models and photography. A surprising discovery for Oliver Elser, curator of the exhibition “The Architectural Model – Tool, Fetish, Small Utopia”, at the Deutsches Architekturmuseum, Frankfurt. An interview by Nina Reetzke.
