Was it difficult to breathe new life into Ferdinand Kramer's designs?
Philipp Mainzer: Our idea was to update the designs to enable their industrial production. We have been closely interacting with the Kramer family and our work was coordinated closely with them.
Do you use the same materials as were used in the originals?
Mainzer: Just like e15 Ferdinand Kramer used a wide variety of materials. For example, he opted for a solid wood oak frame combined with leather, but also utilized lacquered plywood. We likewise made use of these materials for the re-editions.
There'll be more on the Ferdinand Kramer collection in an exclusive on our Website Monday.
