In times of crisis

No-one can escape the crisis any longer. All the experts are predicting a real recession in 2009 and it will also hit the design industry hard. This is reason enough for Stylepark Magazine to devote the current winter issue to this topic. Under the creative leadership of Antonia Henschel, Art Director and Managing Director of Sign Kommunikation, we have produced a magazine which leaves room for fears and worries, as well as for well-grounded hopes that we might emerge from the crisis even stronger.

You can read articles by Axel Wolf on the psychology of consumption in times of crisis and by Thomas Edelmann on the opportunities open to the design discipline in the crisis. Follow Marcel Krenz to America and Anneke Bokern to the trade fair Interieur in Kortrijk, which was held in October and at which there was still no trace of a crisis atmosphere.

Antonia Henschel attended the 100% Design fair in London and Tokyo and brought back her impressions in the form of photographs, which say a great deal about the atmosphere, country and current state. And it goes without saying that as always Stylepark Magazine also contains interesting products, portraits, reviews of important design events, and exciting photo galleries.

The winter issue of Stylepark Magazine for Product Culture addresses the current financial and economic crisis and sheds light on its effects on the design industry. It will be available from December 15 from selected newsagents and as a direct subscription.
