Il disegno di questo modello è stato realizzato da Le Corbusier nel 1931 per le vetture fumatori dei treni delle ferrovie francesi.
Anche in questo arredo, a confermare la validità del sistema sostegno/sostenuto, sia pure con diverse modalità, si avvertono forti significati espressivi derivanti dalla stessa matrice corbusiana.
Gli elementi imbottiti, sedile e schienale, a differenza della LC2 ed LC3, vivono liberi da misurate strutture, nella spazialità del sostegno.
È un nuovo collegamento che denuncia una propria disponibilità ad assecondare posture variabili e che beneficia di uno schienale elastico ed oscillante, come accennato sul disegno originario del Maestro.

The best example is Vitra with a new color concept for its classics. From occasional contrasts to complete color harmony – the trend is definitely for interiors to become more colorful. And a good thing, too.
