Heatherwick Studio exists to make unique design projects happen. Established by Thomas Heatherwick in 1994, it is recognized for its work in:

- architecture
- sculpture
- urban infrastructure
- product design
- exhibition design
- strategic thinking

The practice operates from a studio and workshop in Kings Cross, London, where a team of thirty-five is led by managing director Nader Mokhtari. This is an environment in which project management and implementation takes place in parallel with model-making, prototyping and experimentation with ideas, materials and manufacturing processes.
Born in London, Thomas Heatherwick trained as a designer at Manchester Metropolitan University and at the Royal College of Art, London. He is a Royal Designer for Industry, a Senior Fellow of the Royal College of Art and was awarded an honorary doctorate by Sheffield Hallam University.

Heatherwick Studio has the creative involvement of three associate directors: Fred Manson, architect and formerly Director of Environment for London Borough of Southwark; Ron Packman, structural engineer and mentor to the studio since its inception; and Maisie Rowe, landscape architect and associate of the studio since 1998.
