Serien.lighting was founded by designers Jean-Marc da Costa and Manfred Wolf in 1983. The lighting manufacturer is based in Rodgau near Frankfurt and today employs 30 staff. The successful lighting ranges for domestic, office and shop environments are well established on the international market and are available in Europe, Asia and the USA. Besides their own lighting range, serien.lighting also implements designs by well-known designers such as Uwe Fischer and Yaacov Kaufman. Serien.lighting’s varied and flexible range of products is based on one distinct design approach: clear construction, considered detailing, transparent functions, careful choice of materials, meticulous implementation and superior illumination. The underlying idea is that lighting is not just a substitution of daylight but a design challenge. Lights by serien.lighting are architectural elements of the highest quality manufacture and possess a consistent design style, reflected in every detail. They are made of materials that have been selected according to a light’s anticipated use and function: accentuating, changing the ambience or emphasizing particular areas. The design does not only have to meet the highest standards, it is also a continuous process: lighting by serien.lighting will always find new forms that correspond to the continuous development of new lighting technologies. Numerous lights in the serien.lighting collection have won respected national and international awards.
