The Japanese textile and clothes designer Akira Minagawa has had his own design company with shops/workshops in Shirokanedai, Tokyo, since the mid-1990s. He is famous for his minä perhonen clothes label, which is characterised by its feminine, romantic style. Tambourine Hallingdal are characterised by tight rows of embroidered circles on Hallingdal by Nanna Ditzel . Based on the standard colours, Akira Minagawa has chosen to work with 15 subtle, delicate colours – eight and seven respectively for each fabric, adding a feminine touch to the designs. The design with the embroidered circles is currently being used on The Swan and The Egg chairs, and also in Minagawa’s own clothes collection. “I hope this design will remain popular for a long time to come both with Kvadrat and in interior design for the home.”
