Alfred Kleene absolvierte sein Innenarchitektur-Studium an der Fachhochschule in Detmold, Gabriele Assmann studierte in Münster Design, ehe beide 1983 ein gemeinsames Atelier mit Entwurfswerkstatt für Möbeldesign und Produktgestaltung gründeten.Ziel war und ist die konzeptionelle Entwicklung von modernen Möbeln für den Wohn-, Office- und Ausstellungsbereich. Das Designteam arbeitet für führende internationale Hersteller der Möbelindustrie.
