Der Australier Bassam hat sich einen Namen als Architekt, Innenarchitekt, Möbel- und Produktedesigner gemacht. 1990 verliess er sein Heimatland und ging nach Griechenland, später nach Österreich. Nach einem Aufenthalt in New York, wo er den Fussstapfen von Philip Johnson, Marcel Breuer, Eliot Noyes und anderen Modernisten folgte, landete er in New Canaan (Connecticut), der Hochburg für Architektur. Der New Yorker Scott Fellows sorgte unter anderem mit seinem Engagement als internationaler Marketingchef bei Ferragamo sowie Creative Director von Bally für Schlagzeilen. Beim Schweizer Unternehmen wurde er 1999 für einen Turnaround der traditionsreichen Marke engagiert. Mit grossem, nachhaltigem Erfolg gab er Bally ein neues, frisches Image und führte die Marke ins 21. Jahrhundert. Er war zuständig für die Markenstrategie, das Produktedesign, die Gesamtkommunikation sowie das Design der Shops. Zusammen mit Craig Bassam gestaltete er unter anderem das Bally-Headquarter in Caslano bei Lugano sowie den Concept Brand Store in Berlin. Nach seiner Rückkehr im Jahr 2003 aus der Schweiz nach New York, gründete Fellows zusammen mit seinem Lebensgefährten Bassam die Firma BassamFellows. Die erste Kollektion wurde im selben Jahr am Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Mailand gezeigt. Seither hat sich das Label weiterentwickelt und ist vom Geheimtipp zum Liebling der Design-Szene gereift. Bekannte Persönlichkeiten wie Rem Koolhaas, Sir Norman Foster, Philippe Starck und Agnes Grund gehören zu erklärten Fans und Sammlern von BassamFellows.
