SmithMatthias is a London-based design partnership established by Jack Smith and Gemma Matthias. We share a passion for creating enduring and responsible products with manufacturing intelligence and attention to detail. We strive to encompass function, te

chnology, relevance and sustainability into all that we design, together with beauty and soul. Our light and open studio and workshop space is situated in Battersea, south London just a couple of minutes walk from the Thames.

Smith and Matthias met

during their BA degree courses at Sheffield Hallam University. Since then Smith has gone on to work for a number of architectural and design practices as well as completing a masters at the Royal College of Art. Meanwhile, Matthias has worked for a numbe

r of years at acclaimed design practices.
