Bis Anfang der siebziger Jahre besuchte er die Kunstakademie in Jerusalem. 1974-1979 Studium an der Architectural Association in London. 1981 gründete er zusammen mit Caroline Thorman das Designbüro "One Off Ltd." in London sowie 1989 das Design- und Architekturstudio "Ron Arad Associates Ltd," in Convent Garden, London. 1994 Ron Arad Studio in Como. 1994-97 war er Professor für Product Design an der Hochschule für angewandte Kunst, Wien; 1997 Professor für Furniture Design; 1998 Professor für Industrial Design and Furniture; 1999 Professor für Product Design am Royal College of Art, London.
