Die Initiative zeigt auf eindrucksvolle Weise, dass die Konzepte, Ideen und Möbel der Bauhaus-Ära auch heute noch so faszinierend und funktional wie vor hundert Jahren sind. So trägt Tecta die Spannkraft und Begeisterung von damals ins Heute. Eine Gruppe ambitionierter Gestalter rund um Tecta macht diese Faszination durch ihre persönlichen Interpretationen der Klassiker wieder greifbar. Ob Ikonen wie Walter Gropius Sessel F51, Erich Brendels Teetisch M10 oder Marcel Breuers Clubsessel D4. Neue Akzente, Proportionen und zeitgemäße wie poetische Impulse verbinden die Entwürfe der jungen Gestalter. Mit Respekt und Experimentierlust wagen sie sich an die großen Vorbilder und zeigen: Das Bauhaus lebt, es ist wandelbar und nach 100 Jahren noch so aktuell wie einst. Der D4 ist Zeitzeugnis, Zauber und ein Möbel, mit dem die britische Gestalterin und Künstlerin Esther Wilson aufgewachsen ist. Ein Stuhl, der Erinnerungen an ihre Großeltern, die Architekten Alison und Peter Smithson weckt, die das Möbel besaßen und eng mit Tecta zusammen gearbeitet haben. Die als Stickerin ausgebildete Gestalterin Esther Wilson hat deshalb ein poetisches Denk-Werk geschaffen, das sich vor Breuers Stuhl und dem Bauhaus verneigt. Die Basis für ihre Arbeit lieferte das Bauhaus Manifest in seinem Original-Layout. Wilson markierte auf einer Kopie in Farbe einzelne Worte und Bleistift-Handnotizen, die ihr wichtig erschienen. Die entstanden Farbblocks transferierte sie gemäß ihrer Positionen im Manifest als Stickerei auf die textilen Flächen des D4. So entstanden intensive, minimale Stickereien. Kunstwerke in einzigartiger Rhythmik aus Anordnung und Farbwiederholung.
