The media company Condé Nast Germany has moved to the Richard Meier Building in Munich after an extensive redesign.
The desire to identify the authenticity of the iconic models in the history of design has led Cassina to study this first version of the ‘chaise-longue basculan te.’ The early models were different in a number of construction and aesthetic details from the versions presented by Thonet in the early 1930s up until the Cassina model in 1965. The tube of the frame’s base of the LC4 Villa Church recaptures the first ‘teardrop’ shape and is in blue, whilst the four support elements are in shades of basalt grey. The original grey pony-skin mattress also enriches the compositional structure of the chaise-longue.
