Amsterdam Light Festival: Ai Weiwei to create light object

On the occasion of the Amsterdam Light Festival set to take place from November 30, 2017 until January 21, 2018, Chinese artist Ai Weiwei is designing a light object that connects the artworks along what is known as the “Water Colors” route. Measuring 7.5 kilometers, “Red Line” will be the longest exhibit ever shown at the festival. Whereas the artworks on the “Water Colors” route along the canals can be admired from a boat, the second route, called “Illuminade,” is on land. This year it follows the concept of the “Open Light Museum” – artworks will be displayed both in indoor and outdoor spaces. (am)
