“Flos with Sarfatti”: reedition of the luminaires by Gino Sarfatti

Under the name “Flos with Sarfatti”, in collaboration with luminaire manufacturer Flos, the design company Astep, established by Alessandro Sarfatti, is presenting a reedition of selected works by his uncle, renowned designer Gino Sarfatti. Between 1939 and 1973, the Italian industrial designer and founder of the company Arteluce, created over 600 luminaires and “light fittings”; in the process, he introduced pioneering typologies, functions and light sources, opting to use Perspex, fluorescent tubes and halogen bulbs, for example. The first results of the cooperation between Flos and Alessandro Sarfatti, the nephew of Gino Sarfatti, were presented at this year’s Euroluce in Milan – further models are to follow. (am)
