Renzo Piano designs luxury apartment complex in Florida

Architect and Pritzker Prize winner Renzo Piano has designed his very first residential project in the USA: The luxurious complex named “Eighty Seven Park” in Miami Beach is scheduled to be commissioned next year and will boast 70 apartments, each a good 400 – 650 square meters in size and each with an unobstructed view out over the Atlantic. The oval residential complex made of glass and steel will be surrounded by spacious parkland. To ensure a smooth transition from indoors to outdoors, barrier-free sliding windows will be used. For the interior, Rena Dumas Architecture Intérieure (RDAI) chose Venetian terrazzo floors and a lot of wood: The oak floorboards and furniture such as the molded plywood “Neutra Boomerang Chair” by Richard Neutra for VS Möbel are destined to emphasize the link to nature.
