Whether it is in a cozy living room by the sofa or in the reading corner of a hotel lobby, the side table HE-116 captivates through subtle elegance. Delicately, the three identical, angled foot parts join up centrally, where combined they act as the carrier of the table top. The simple, constructive idea turns into the defining design element. The clarity of the form steers the focus to the combined metal parts, the details, and the proportions of the table.
Hans Eichenberger has shaped the Swiss furniture culture since the 1950s and 1960s, and even beyond that. The side table “HE-116”, the armchair “HE-113” and the “Saffa chair” belong to his famous designs, which were awarded with the predicate “The Good Form” by the Swiss association of craftsmen. Following awards and successes in national and international contests, today several of his pieces belong to renowned collections such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
