Biography

Der ausgebildete Tischler und studierte Architekt, der sich selbst als „Handarbeitsmensch“ bezeichnet, machte sich 2014 mit seinem Designunternehmen Interior Things mit Sitz in Holzminden selbstständig. Der Rote Faden seiner Arbeit: Mit Leidenschaft und Präzision klares Design und Ordnung schaffen. So entstand auch sein System „Meterware“, ein Ablagesystem für Schreibtisch und Wand. Ganz nach Hartauers Anspruch entworfen: „nehm mich in die Hand und beweg mich!“ Pulverbeschichtete Aluminiumschalen tragen edle Ablagen aus Holz oder Filz. Alles passt, nichts klemmt, ist spielerisch er- und befahrbar. Sinnlich, haptisch und exakt zugleich. Fragt man Hartauer was er in seinem nächsten Leben macht, kommt die Antwort spontan: Uhrmacher werden. Überraschend? Nicht wirklich, eher die logische Folge seiner Auffassung von Ästhetik und Ordnung, die bei ihm im besten Sinn zusammen passt.
