“We sometimes have a very bad opinion of the Cro-Magnons, of their Neanderthal friends and of
the Flintstone family. Luckily, they were far more sophisticated than we can imagine.”
Pieces that are apparently imperfect and unique, the collection is composed of a table and a set of
seats: a chair, an armchair and a stool. The latter feature two handcuffs in mirror-polished stainless
steel, a detail that is as structural as it is decorative and is ironically reminiscent of the imaginary of the distant inquisition. A link that regards the concept as well as the project and explains where
the name of this collection comes from. Each piece is also available in a more precious version, in
gouged oak, which highlights the authenticity of this handcrafted furniture.
“One day, the Flintstone family invited Little Red Riding Hood to dinner. While they were dining, the
sever dwarfs painted the chairs in bright colours. How disgraceful! As (me went by, they learnt to
love them”, relates Philippe Starck.
The chairs and stool are available in oak and, as disclosed by Philippe, in the following colour
options: white, yellow, grey and even pastel lavender and pink.
