We breathe in 14 kilograms of air each day and spend almost 90 percent of our lives indoors. It is all the more important, therefore, that air quality in buildings is correspondingly high. Since the advent of Corona, the hygiene aspect associated with this has grown hugely in importance, since the risk of infection is greatest through droplets and aerosols containing viruses, bacteria or other pathogens. Help is at hand in the form of UVC disinfection systems such as BÄRO’s "AirCom Pro", which is fixed beneath the ceiling just like a light fitting. For the product, the specialist from Leichlingen in the Rhineland has drawn on its many decades of experience in ventilation technology in the form of its "BÄRO Clean Air Technologies with UVC", combining them with the design competence of "BÄRO Retail Lighting". "AirCom Pro" is simple to install in indoor spaces and sucks in unpurified air continually and almost noiselessly via two fans mounted on its front sides. The purified air is then fed back into the room via vents on the underside.
"AirCom Pro" is ideally suited for areas where people congregate in groups. Examples include supermarkets with their cash registers, fruit and vegetable sections, service counters or work areas behind the air curtain of a self-service counter. Aerosols with infectious pathogens such as SARS-CoV-2 are inactivated in the disinfection chamber to a level of 99.9 percent per cycle without chemical additives and ozone-free, reducing the risk of infection accordingly. What’s more, the shielded disinfection chamber means that direct contact with the high-energy UVC radiation of the system is safely avoided. "AirCom Pro" likewise comes out tops for its modern design with clear lines and balanced proportions, and slots flexibly into a wide variety of settings. The unit is very compact, measuring only 1,190 millimeters in length, 127 in width and 191 in height, and which weighs 8.8 kilograms, can therefore be mounted on the ceiling, on variable hanging cords, or on a power rail system with a corresponding adapter.
"AirCom Pro" is available in two versions: the "AirCom Pro H" and the "AirCom Pro M". The latter operates with absolutely minimal noise levels. At 39 dB (A) and with air flow rate of 170 m3/h, it is especially suitable for noise-sensitive settings. With the "AirCom Pro H", the main focus is on performance, hence its air flow rate of 280 m3/h. Its operating noise level nevertheless remains low at under 49 dB (A). The choice of the right device depends on various parameters such as spatial conditions or the type of usage.
