No, it’s not on...That was the response when Børge Mogensen (1914-1972) stipulated that his new collection, the “22-series” should be upholstered with duck down and leather. The rebuttal came from Andreas Graversen, then Managing Director of Fredericia.
p>However, Børge Mogensen got his way despite the difficulty of sourcing the fine down and elegant leather.
In 1963, the “22-series” was ready for its major launch – a collection consisting of a wing chair, armchair, stool and sofa in black and untreat
ed leather. For 49 years, the collection has only been upholstered in leather, but now a velour version is being introduced.
But what would Børge Mogensen have felt about that? We actually believe that he would have rejoiced, because throughout his
life as an architect, he continually sought new and different solutions.
The “22-series” in velour is being launched at the Milan Furniture Fair.
