This year Fredericia Furniture for the first time is introducing two elegant coffee tables to match the Stingray rocking chair. When the designer Thomas Pedersen wanted to create these tables, he derived his inspiration from nature.
"I got the i
dea for the form of the table during a holiday when I was picking stones by the water's edge. The stones had been completely smoothened by the water, giving them a soft shape that I have tried to recreate in the table top. The transition to the legs relie
s on the same principle just as when an icicle forms: The underside of the table is slightly curved, merging with the three tapered legs - exactly like an icicle," says Thomas Pedersen.
The table has an organic feel, set in the same style as the
Stingray. This light, stylish expression not only perfectly matches the Stingray, but also many other classic and modern pieces of furniture. It is also easy to place the table free-standing thanks to its simple, 60's inspired looks. The table top, base
and the massive wooden legs are available in different styles, which can be combined for perfect adaptation to the surroundings.
