This is a pattern that, with Theia, Sebastian Herkner was looking to disrupt, turning the frame of this chair into its core aesthetic element. In this, his second design for Freifrau, his concept was to fuse the frame and the seating shell – not just in technical, but in optical terms, too. This is something he achieved by deliberately extending the frame into the back of the shell. Looking at the Theia Armchair, it certainly has something of an inset gemstone about it – and this is a deliberate reference. With his new model Theia, Sebastian Herkner has made the chair the jewel in the crown of any room, placing equal emphasis both on the upholstery and the frame as design elements in such a way as the viewer sees them as one. In the back of the chair, a space is enveloped by the flowing lines of the frame, emphasising the concept and highlighting the lightness of the model. The Theia is available both with low and high armrests, with a range of materials and colours offering a multitude of custom configurations. ![](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/2021_Theia_Armchair-Low_1.3_MExxx_Vidar3-693_frontal.jpg)![](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/2021_Theia_Armchair-Low_1.3_MExxx_Vidar3-693_front.jpg) ![](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/2021_Theia_Armchair-Low_1.3_MExxx_Vidar3-693_back.jpg)![](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_697xAUTO_fit_center-center_none/2021_Theia_Armchair-Low_1.3_MExxx_Vidar3-693_back2.jpg) - Request a quote - [Manufacturer's Product-Info](https://www.freifrau.com/en/products/theia-armchair-low) - [Manufacturer's website](https://www.freifrau.com) All Theia products - [![Theia Kitchen Armchair High with steel frame](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/2023_Theia_Kitchen-Armchair-High_1-8_ME001_Vidar3-693_front.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/freifrau/theia-kitchen-armchair-high-with-steel-frame) - [![Theia Kitchen Armchair Low with steel frame](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/2023_Theia_Kitchen-Armchair-Low_1-8_ME001_Safire-004_front.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/freifrau/theia-kitchen-armchair-low-with-steel-frame) - [![Theia Counter Armchair High with steel frame](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/2023_Theia_Counter-Armchair-High_1-8_ME001_Vidar3-693_front.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/freifrau/theia-counter-armchair-high-with-steel-frame) - [![Theia Counter Armchair Low with steel frame](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/2023_Theia_Counter-Armchair-Low_1-8_ME001_Safire-004_front.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/freifrau/theia-counter-armchair-low-with-steel-frame) - [![Theia Bar Armchair High with steel frame](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/2023_Theia_Bar-Armchair-High_1-8_ME001_Adamo-Geranio_front.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/freifrau/theia-bar-armchair-high-with-steel-frame) - [![Theia Bar Armchair Low with steel frame](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/2023_Theia_Bar-Armchair-Low_1-8_ME001_Adamo-Polline_front.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/freifrau/theia-bar-armchair-low-with-steel-frame) - [![Theia Armchair Low](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/2021_Theia_Armchair-Low_1.3_MExxx_Vidar3-693_front2.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/freifrau/theia-armchair-low) - [![Theia Armchair High](https://www.stylepark.com/assets/transformations/manufacturers/_350x225_crop_center-center_none/2021_Theia_Armchair-High_1.3_ME001_Vidar3-693_front2.jpg)](https://www.stylepark.com/en/freifrau/theia-armchair-high) - [All products by Freifrau @ Stylepark](https://www.stylepark.com/en/products/manufacturer/freifrau) - [Freifrau @ Stylepark](https://www.stylepark.com/en/manufacturer/freifrau) Freifrau Related Articles [DESIGN Natural grace 4/1/2026 Stylepark is giving away the ‘Grace Lounge Chair Low’ by Freifrau!](https://www.stylepark.com/en/news/freifrau-grace-lounge-chair-low-prize-draw-stylepark-magazine) [INTERVIEWS In good shape 9/9/2025 Birgit Hoffmann and Christoph Kahleyss have expanded the Marie chair family for Freifrau.
