The subtle difference

Light + Building recently closed its doors to the public in Frankfurt/Main. Which topics are people still talking about? Here is Stylepark’s retrospective overview of the fair.
Glatzkopf is based on a long-lasting lighting concept: a lampshade sits on a large glass bulb, which is fixed in the base plate via the frame and the rod. The lampshade, due to its asymmetrical form, is reminiscent of a cap and gives the fixture a certain dynamism. In the base plate are three openings, which allow the rod to be adjusted at different angles. The paper screen makes the light bulb visible through the hole. The light bulb itself is sandblasted on the top and is equipped with LED string lamps. Ingo Maurer has given expression to the new ‘bald head’, which is based on a design from 1981, through self-assertion, ironic understatement and simple user-friendliness.
