Teamplaying Architecture – New Adidas Building in Herzogenaurach by kadawittfeldarchitecture
Rikke Ladegaard is a textile designer with the added benefit of architectural and spatial understanding. She graduated from the Institute for Spatial Design at the Danish Design School and has had links with the institute for textiles in recent years. Rikke Ladegaard made her debut with Kvadrat in 2000, following up in 2002 with the Blitz upholstery fabric and Zap screen material. Zoom is a curtain version of Zap and also bears a resemblance to the Blitz upholstery fabric. Zoom is a modern curtain with a shiny, shot silk look and retains its shape precisely when draped. This time, Kvadrat has deliberately set out to accentuate the shiny qualities of the Trevira CS material. Zoom works well as a roller blind or panel curtain, or hung as ordinary curtains. In developing Zoom, Rikke Ladegaard used colour in the same way she would with silk. The result is an exceptionally homogenous colour scheme. Zoom ranges from many subtle hues of silver, white, beige and grey to a more colourful approach with brand-new colour offerings to challenge the traditional colour palette in the contract and domestic markets.
