Zulu is a light and transparent curtain fabric with a metallic look made of Trevira CS, designed by Giulio Ridolfo. The textile has a very lively appearance: it constantly changes with the light, offering surprising new shapes and nuances of colour.
Zulu is suitable for both panels and drapes. The fabric is particularly well-suited to hospitality venues, and is applicable to a wide variety of environments, including offices, hotels and private homes.
The fabric offers a pronounced texture and is woven with an open leno-binding. This technique gives the textile a robust construction that looks very delicate.
Zulu is made from fine, shiny yarns, which bring out the colour nuances in the fabric. The curtain is available in unicoloured charcoal black, white and 12 colourways. Each colourway consists of two shades, with the warp thread in one colour and the weft in the other. This combination of differently coloured yarns adds depth and movement to the appearance of the fabric.
To complement the construction of the fabric, Giulio Ridolfo has crafted a palette of subtle and harmonious tones derived from ‘the vibrancy of metals and stones', as he describes it. It includes elegant sheers of pale gold, copper, antique silver and zinc.
Giulio Ridolfo's methodology and colour compositions are far from traditional. The designer bases his work around the expression of an attitude or a choice, and this results in the development of highly personal and distinctive colour palettes.
