Marie Christine Dorner has designed a sofa for Ligne Roset that calmly faces surprises.
Inspired by the current graphic trend for multiplying geometric forms (stripes, squares, triangles, houndstooth, etc.), here the designers present an arrangement of hexagons which seem similar at first glance but which are, in fact, all different.
Their design is evocative of a beehive with its hexagonal wax cavities, certain of which are empty, whilst other are full or partially full. The differing coloration of the hexagons occasions a perception of rotational movement which recalls the recherché effects of optical or kinetic art.
