Marie Christine Dorner has designed a sofa for Ligne Roset that calmly faces surprises.
This settee combines a basic architectural shape on the exterior with a soft, comfortable interior. The smooth, clean external envelope, divided into squares by stitching, protects what is inside, its stitching suggestive of an external framework whilst giving plumpness to the backrests and arms.
A subtle association of fabrics marks the frontier between the two: texture for the exterior, softness for the interiors. We were missing a classic from the Ligne Roset collection and MCD 2015 revisits this with a current twist; city-dwellers also need to snuggle up.
