W8 is a small item designed to take its place
beside a settee (as a pedestal table) or bed
Its name, W8 (= W – eight = Weight), reminds
us of the reassuring stability of its stone base.
W8 establishes a very successful graphic
dialogue between the various materials used
as well as the various shapes: a solid base in a
rounded conical shape made from turned grey
Tuscan stone, from which springs forth a slim
black or white lacquered flat steel structure
on which the upper top seems to levitate. The
result is a highly graphic and useful object which
is at once stable and light, very much present
yet somehow transparent, which anchors itself
discreetly in the visual space.

metallic sounds during use.
