The Finnish word "lovi" means a groove or notch, but to "fall into a lovi" refers to falling into ecstasy or generally taking a fancy to or becoming infatuated with something. In the Lovi chair, the user "falls into" the chair's receptive, softly shaped i

nterior, which is in stark contrast with the exterior's geometric, prismatic form. A frame made of thin steel rods holds up the solid wood seat as if it were a bowl. The chair offers lightness in profile forming a powerful visual juxtaposition against the

mass of the seat.
