New tables: From material fetish to the Zen factor
by Jasmin Jouhar | 4/11/2017
Be they short or long of leg, simply unique or extravagant: there’s no end to the variety of tables in Milan.
A major innovation this year is the inclusion of a line of beds. Starting with the HIGHLANDS collection and maintaining the same genetic code of movement and possible verticality, though introducing a morphological variant, Patricia Urquiola has designed an element for relaxation. The headrest has two positions and acts as a comfortable support. The side members and the footboard are multi-ply wood covered in crushproof polyurethane and polyester fibre. The backs are made of high resilience foam with structure and inclining mechanism made of steel, covered in polyester fibre. The bed is completely removable.
