Sleeping Beauty on Mallorca
by Anna Moldenhauer | 7/3/2019
OHLAB Architekten have tenderly kissed the former glory of an old Spanish townhouse back to life with their boutique hotel Can Bordoy Grand House & Garden.
This outdoor chair is the latest member of Moroso’s Afrique collection which includes designs by P. Urquiola and T. Boontje to name just two. Its curved design is inspired by the courtship dance of ostrich birds living in East Africa. Flapping the wings creates overhanging shapes which have been transferred to the silhouette of this armchair.
The braiding on the steel frame is made with colorful fishing yarns which creates an interesting bi-colour pattern. Banjooli is handmade in Senegal, each product is a unique piece and different colours and weave pattern are possible on request.
